Art appreciation

I know nothing about art, but I know what I like. It’s a cliché, but in my case it is true. I know next to nothing about art. I can tell the difference between abstract, portrait, still life and landscape, but I cannot look at a piece and identify the artist or the period or anything else about the work. To my knowledge there is no particular type of art that I dislike. Similarly, there is no particular type that I prefer over others, though I do tend to like portraits over other subjects. Rather, I tend to judge each individual piece.  Most of the time, I don’t even know why I like or dislike a piece, I just do. Anyway, here are some of my favourite pieces:
